Sure launches Cloud Voice service as alternative to ISDN
The withdrawal of ISDN services in 2020 means local businesses of all sizes need to consider their future telecoms needs, according to Sure. The local telecoms company is today launching Sure Cloud Voice in response to client demand for more flexible solutions for the modern workplace.
Cloud voice provides a phone service that is carried over the internet rather than via traditional telephone networks. It is an alternative to the traditional private branch exchange (PBX) telephone systems used by many businesses and Sure’s cloud-based solution has been specifically designed to appeal to businesses from just two users up to those with multiple small sites.
While the retirement of ISDN, a telephone network system, is one of the factors behind the launch, local businesses will also benefit from the new service's ease of maintenance, cost efficiency, scalability and greater flexibility.
“The way businesses operate day-to-day has changed a lot in recent years as organisations and their employees are looking for greater flexibility and the ability to work wherever and whenever,” said Zoe Richardson, Account Director supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at Sure.
“Cloud voice supports this new way of working and is ideal for companies with flexible working locations or multiple sites and mobile workers who need to receive their telephone calls seamlessly, wherever they may be. The service can benefit start-ups and smaller businesses with limited resource or inhouse telecoms expertise as it doesn’t require expensive equipment to be installed and has the flexibility to add users and plan for future growth.
“Larger businesses are taken care of with Sure’s next generation SIP services but businesses with fewer users generally have limited resources, expertise or interest in running their own telecoms equipment.
“We have the expertise at Sure via our dedicated team for SMEs to advise those businesses who are asking about how they can use cloud services to support their future communication needs.
“Communications are business critical in the modern workplace and businesses of all sizes should be taking steps now to futureproof themselves for the increasingly digital world.”
